INKA-Award 2007

On 15 November, the “INKA 2007”, the Oscars for product catalogues, were awarded in the Bregenz/Austria festival hall. Even if it didn’t quite reach a top place, BlitzRotary is still proud to have achieved an excellent 3rd place in the Machinery/Equipment category with its Online catalogues – and this was amongst participants with a total of 150 print and online catalogues.

Every year, “INKA – the Competition” distinguishes companies from Germany, Austria and Switzer-land for outstanding technical catalogues in commerce and industry. The organisers of the competition and the related initiative “INKA – Industrie. Kataloge. Kommunizieren. (Industry. Catalogues. Communicate.)” are INDUKOM, the trade magazine for B2B communication, and the TANNER AG services company which prepares product catalogues, amongst other things.

During a multi-stage procedure, “INKA – the Competition” evaluated the catalogues submitted. In a first step, a team of experts from TANNER AG analysed the catalogues based on more than 130 individual criteria. In doing so, aspects from the product search, product selection and ordering areas were assessed. The initial evaluation was then extended by design and communication elements in the “Print” area as well as the quality of the print.

These evaluation criteria are subject to a standardised point system, after which the short list to nominate the overall winning participant was determined. The catalogues which succeeded into get-ting onto this short list were then presented to an independent 14-member jury for evaluation and discussion. This committee, consisting of marketing experts and representatives from research and teaching as well as the print industry finally selected the top winner and runners-up of the “INKA 2007”.
